About the wine Once part of the single Leoville estate, Léoville Poyferré took its name in the 1840s from Baron Jean-Marie de Poyferré, who acquired the estate through marriage. After a succession of owners, including Edouard Lawton (the wolf of his family crest adorns the Léoville Poyferré labels to this day), the estate was acquired by the Cuvelier family in 1920, with whom it has remained. A wonderful vintage for the region. With wines still giving pleasure. Typical Blend, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot. 75cl Bottle. Abv% Not stated. Bottle condition, capsule good, label good, wine level top shoulder Tasting Note 22/02/2026 - 89 Points In better shape than the 70 LLC, but still a bit past prime. Still holding on to red fruit, some nice cigar box, a whiff of pyrazine, still some tannins. Enjoyed this but I've had 70s that were in better shape than this.
