IRISH WHISKEY - SINGLE POT STILL Ireland is experiencing a whiskey renaissance with several new distilleries producing a range of styles from single malts and blends to traditional single pot still. This sublime, Sherried Irish single pot still whiskey is the result of a collaboration between Irelands Midleton distillery and Bodegas Lustau in Jerez. The whiskey is made from a mash of malted and unmalted barley, triple distilled in copper pot stills and finished in first-fill oloroso Sherry butts for 12 months for a rich, fruity flavour. Serving Suggestions: Serve neat or in an Old Fashioned with an orange twist. TASTING NOTES It opens with decadent dark fruits and marzipan-iced fruitcake, stuffed with raisins and dried figs, and laced with an earthy oloroso Sherry. Its creamy and lusciously sweet with chocolate, stewed fruits, more Sherry and delicate spices that linger on the tongue long after the whisky is gone.
